REMINISCENCE THERAPY TOOL
Currently in development, below details all of the work I have completed up to date. Any current or unreleased work is available to be viewed upon request.
The Background.
At the beginning of 2024, an idea was brought to the development team to create an application to assist paramedics in communicating with those with alternative needs. This could include dementia, ASD, children, anxiety, and more. Currently, staff working on ambulances receive training on how to best deal with a variety of communication issues, but don’t have that information to hand. A solution was derived to create an application on their trust-issued iPads to not only help with communicating to individuals, but to cater to their specific needs and reduce confusion or anxiety by implementing the idea of reminiscence therapy.
The User Research.
To begin with, I have delved into the types of users I would be designing for. It is important to identify which core needs we will cover considering the vast difference in the best way to design for varying accessibilities. I created several user personas and storyboards to identify this, as well as any common patterns or requirements to assist in further development stages.
